Cruising enjoys comeback in Westminster

Westminster’s Yousef Mefleh may be 61 years old, but he’s not too old to partake in a recreation activity thought to be the province of the young.  As a city councilman, Mefleh had a hand in the city’s recent decision to welcome cruising back to the city.  There have now been two straight Saturday nights of large numbers of cruisers in the Westminster downtown.  And this past Saturday night, councilman Mefleh was one of them.  He enjoyed himself.  The route runs between the traffic lights at 24 and the Main Street Depot parking lot, where Mefleh got out and shook some hands.  We’re told that two of the cruisers were a couple from North Carolina.
