Deputies measure the sound!

Two Oconee County deputy sheriffs are gathering decibel readings of various events and at venues across the county.  They are on assignment by Sheriff Mike Crenshaw, who has been tasked by the County Council.  Crenshaw said yesterday, “I hope to have a varied sample of the noise that our county generates and provide council a measured reading to serve as a baseline should they go forward with any objective standards in the county’s noise ordinance.”
