Destination committee begins to take shape

The committee of Oconeeans whose task it will be to work to make the county and its natural resources a place of destination is beginning to form.  But a couple of county councilmen want more time before they are ready to recommend some of its members.  The council last night accepted the nominations of the committee’s first three members.  From District One David Washburn, as recommended by Edda Cammick; from District Two Luther Lyle, as recommended by Wayne McCall; and from District Three Jennifer Barnhart, as recommended by Paul Cain.  Councilmen Reg Dexter of District Five and Joel Thrift of District Four requested more time to find their nominees.  The remaining committee seats, along with that of an at-large member, are likely to be addressed during council’s next meeting, December 15.
