Dexter gets combative about GCCP

During a committee meeting last night, Oconee County Councilman Reg Dexter complained about what he sees as a further delay in extending sewer service to the Golden Corner Commerce Park. Dexter made no secret of his displeasure after County Administrator Scott Moulder reported that the state Department of Commerce won’t release funds for one portion of the project until another is under contract. Dexter, in whose district the park is located, called attention to the county’s effort to obtain a $500 thousand grant through the state Department of Commerce. He complained: “Government is slow. I apologize. I wish I could make it fast. But let me tell you something. The turtle would beat Oconee County in a race around the world….”
