Easley Man Arrested on Weapons Charges

Oconee Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 21 year Easley man early Sunday morning on weapons charges. Sheriff’s Department Spokesman Jimmy Watt says 21 year old Tyler Joseph Crutchfield of Wallace Drive, Easley was booked into the Oconee Detention Center. Watt says deputies were dispatched around 1 am December 28 to an Owens Road address in Seneca, in response to reports of a disturbance in which an argument had ensued between a male and two females at the residents. Watt says the male, later identified as Crutchfied, was reported to have been waving a gun. An investigation by the deputies on the scene corroborated the information provided to deputies. Crutchfield was arrested and charged in warrants with pointing a presenting a firearm at a person. Warrants also charge him with receiving stolen good after a check on the firearm in question revealed it had been reported stolen by the Clemson Police Department. The handgun was placed into evidence. No other firearms were found at the residence. Crutchfield has been released on a combined $15,000 surety bond.
