Eclipse viewing just hours away

This is the day Oconeeans and many other Americans pause to stand in awe of nature’s gift–the total solar eclipse.  It’s a good idea to now get out the necessary eyewear to ensure that your experience will be the best and the safest possible.  It should start to turn dark around here around the 1 o’clock area.  Arrival of the moon eclipsing the sun in our area should be 2:38 this afternoon.  A partly cloudy sky is forecast, and it’s going to be low 90s.  101.7/WGOG will go live from outside our studios at 2058 Westminster Highway. Clemson and Oconee started to see increased traffic during the weekend.  One of the hubs of activities is Seneca’s Hampton Inn and Suites where this morning the parking lot was full.  Clemson University grounds, Duke’s Word of Energy, and Oconee’s parks and lakes are expected to draw crowds.
