Fatal stabbing believed case of “self defense”

John Covington, Seneca Police Chief, announced this afternoon that a preliminary review by the Solicitor’s Office has produced the opinion that no charges should be filed against a man considered a suspect in last night’s incident that led to the death of a second man.  Covington said, “At this point in the investigation, the solicitor has opined that no charges should be filed at this time based on a probable ‘self defense’ situation.  The solicitor will await the autopsy and final investigative results before any firm finding on the case.”  Autopsy on the body of Thomas “Tony” Mark, 53, has been scheduled Sunday morning.  According to Coroner Karl Addis, Mark died early today during hospital surgery for a stab wound to the abdomen.
