FDIC releases market share rankings

From this year to the last, Oconee’s financial institutions are holding their own when it comes to total deposits. The county’s 11 banks and one savings institution reported total deposits around $1.1 billion, about the same from last year’s market share report from the FDIC. For a second year, Oconee Federal Savings and Loan’s nearly 298 million dollars in deposits were enough for the number one market share ranking in the county, with Community First second at nearly $290 and a half million. Wells Fargo and Blue Ridge Bank were numbers three and four.
