Final prescribed burn of the season

U-S Forest Service personnel are planning their final prescribed burn of the year within the Andrew Pickens District of the Sumter National Forest.  This final burn, with its wildlife habitat and wild fire prevention objectives, is to begin at 10 o’clock this morning at Long Creek.  The location:  350 acres off Orchard Road.  Total acreage burned this year within the Andrew Pickens District amounts to just over 7,000 acres.
