Five arrests in larceny and gun case

Oconee sheriff’s officers, so far, have made five arrests in crime investigations that began with burglary cases in the Seneca and Westminster areas. In each instance, guns were among the items stolen. Among the five arrested are a man and his mother. The man, Andrew Lane Carver, was charged with grand larceny and first degree burglary after the Sheriff’s Office said it tracked him to a motel in Anderson. Carver’s mother, 48-year old Dolly Carver, was charged with obstruction of justice. One of the burglaries, on Summers Way in the New Hope Community near Seneca, was reported Thanksgiving Day. The second, on Cottontail Drive near Westminster, was reported December 10. The Sheriff’s Office reports some of the stolen goods have been recovered, but the investigation continues.
