Former Jimmy Johnson guy now directs Oconee Airport

For seven years as the pilot for NASCAR’s Jimmy Johnson, Clemson’s Jeff Garrison flew the race car driver from one venue to another across the professional racing circuit.  But the lure of coming home proved too great for Garrison to resist the chance to run the Oconee Regional Airport.  Garrison assumed his new duties two weeks ago and last night took part in his first meeting of his advisers—the Oconee Regional Airport Commission.  The local airport is in the Garrison family blood.  For many years, Jeff Garrison’s father, Reid, worked as the airport’s fixed-base operator.
