Goals outline quest to be top school district

Out of this summer’s retreat meeting of the Oconee school board of trustees are goals designed to elevate the county district to top ten status throughout South Carolina.  The goals are described as benchmarks to be attained by the end of 2016-17.  Here are the objectives the district aspires for:  Exceed the national mean on each AP exam offered to more than 10 students by the third year of offering the class.  Rank among the top ten districts for mean ACT college entrance exam scores.  Exceed national means at each grade level of MAP testing.  Have a minimum of 60% of students exceed growth targets on the MAP test. And rank among the top ten districts on SC accountability tests.
