Grant opportunities to expand “CAT”

Three grant opportunities have been identified by the point man for the potential to expand bus service from Seneca into other parts of Oconee County—including the municipalities of Walhalla and Westminster.  Seneca’s Ed Halbig addressed a meeting this afternoon to encourage a letter-writing campaign among bus service supporters.  Those letters would be part of an application, due next month, to apply for outside funds to make bus passenger service a reality for the triangle of Seneca, Walhalla and Westminster.  Halbig touted two of the potential sources for funds.  According to Halbig, although the grant money could be approved some time this year, the estimate for the start of Seneca to Walhalla to Westminster bus service is the next three years.
