Grant to help South Carolinians enroll for national insurance

The U-S Department of Health and Human Services will send a one million dollar grant to a South Carolina group, the Palmetto Project, to be used to help state residents enroll for the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare.   The money is to go for free appointments with experts who can explain coverage options to help state residents make the best decisions.  According to the Palmetto Project, research shows that more than 70% of the uninsured think it’s important to talk to someone one-on-one when buying insurance, which makes the enrollment experts a critical resource for uninsured and newly insured Americans.   Any South Carolinian who wants to meet with an in-person enrollment assister can schedule a free appointment. South Carolinians can call signupSC toll-free at 1-888-998-4646 or visit www.palmettoproject.org.
