Grievances subject of two closed meetings

Oconee school trustees went behind closed doors for what officials say were three grievance hearings.  After more than one hour yesterday, the trustees emerged from their private meeting, but Chairman Andy Inabinet said there would be a second such meeting later in the night before any action was taken.  The draft of the minutes from last week’s special meeting show that, as the result of an executive session that night, the board voted 4-0 to terminate the employment of a professional employee, but no other details were given. Dr. Michael Thorsland, county superintendent, this morning said, “The board did not take action in any of the three grievances.  They are considering and will vote at a later time.”
