Household hazardous waste collection day

An event this month will help Oconeeans safely get rid of hazardous chemicals stored in the home that potentially can harm the environment. A household hazardous waste collection day will take place from 10 a-m to 2 p-m Saturday, April 26 in the parking lot of Seneca High School. Items to be collected include pesticides, cleaning products, herbicides. The Sheriff’s Office will accept unused medications. You should mark out any personal information including name and prescription number. Representatives of Goodwill Industries will be there to collect clothing, shoes, small household items, and unwanted electronics. To participate, you must be a resident Oconee. Proof of residency, such as driver’s license, will be required.
