In tandem with new school, Salem seeks grant

The arrival of a charter school in Salem creates the chance for the town to team with the school to change the small town’s landscape and create economic development.  During a meeting last night, the town council resolved to make a September 30 deadline to apply for a $25 thousand grant from the state Municipal Association.  Brad Norton, town attorney, this morning said the grant purpose will be two-fold.  One is the establishment of a business incubator and a streetscape project for the town.
