Judge sides with Appeals Board

A Common Pleas judge wasted little time today in issuing a ruling in the controversy over whether a Dollar General store may be built on the Ebenezer Road in rural Oconee County. Judge Lawton McIntosh ruled that “The decision of the Oconee County Board of Zoning Appeals is affirmed.  Doug Gray to prepare formal order.”  Gray is the attorney who defended the board’s decision to allow a special zoning exception to permit the retail chain to build inside a traditional rural district not far from the 4-way stop of Ebenezer Road and SC 188.  Attorney Larry Brandt represents homeowners who oppose the project.
