Judge to rule against school challenge

Lynne Martin, the plaintiff in a legal challenge to closing the middle and high school in Salem, has confirmed talk that she has learned a judge will rule in favor of the Oconee School District.  Which means that Judge Maddox will uphold the school board’s decision to close Tamassee-Salem Middle/High School at the end of the current year.  The town of Salem stands in line to takeover the buildings and campus and is pursuing a charter school at the location.  A public meeting to consider the charter school project takes place at 6 Tuesday night at the Salem Community Center.
