Jury verdict exonerates Salem man

A jury’s verdict, in the estimation of the defense lawyer, resolved a one-day trial in the Oconee General Sessions Court—in apparent record time. The jury found Dale Eugene Morgan of Salem not guilty of indecent exposure on April 1 this year. Morgan had been arrested by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, a few days after answering a call to the home of Morgan on Crestwood Drive and that of his neighbor—the accuser in the case. The jury reached the verdict without Morgan taking the stand. His attorney, Public Defender Wilson Burr, said the real issue between his client and his neighbor was a property line dispute.
