Kevin Davis next Chief Deputy

An Oconee Sheriff’s Department sergeant has been appointed the next chief deputy. Sheriff-elect Mike Crenshaw calls Kevin Davis “the perfect fit for (his) administration.” Davis started his law enforcement career in 1995 with the Walhalla police. Two years later he joined the sheriff’s department and was promoted to sergeant in 2002. Davis is a member of SWAT, a certified instructor in firearms, defensive tactics, knife defense, and chemical munitions. According to Crenshaw, the 40-year old Davis’s experience with the road patrol will serve Oconeeans well, as the patrol division is generally the first point of contact with citizens. “This is the first step in the focus and direction I plan to bring to the sheriff’s office,” Crenshaw said.
