Lawsuit contains allegation against camp worker

The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice is among the defendants in a lawsuit filed in Oconee County, alleging that a camp employee engaged in sex acts with a 15-year old camper.  The lawsuit was filed yesterday in the Court of Common Pleas in Walhalla on behalf of a Beaufort County resident, identified by the lawsuit as the guardian of the alleged victim.  Besides the state whose duties include alternative-to-commitment programs, defendants are the camp employee and Woodridge Behavioral Care, doing business as Camp Ghigau.  The sex acts are alleged to have occurred at the camp between September 8, 2014 and October 17, 2014.
