Lawyer goes to bat for prosecutor and office

Judge Maddox took under advisement this afternoon a motion by a defense lawyer to excuse Solicitor Chrissy Adams from a civil lawsuit brought on behalf of a boy who was found not guilty of a sex crime and then sued Adams and others.  James Logan, attorney for Adams, argued there are court rulings that hold that prosecutors are immune from such civil prosecution, but plaintiff’s attorney Keith Denny disagreed.  Denny argued that, for months, there was evidence that would have exonerated his client before the charge of second degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor was tried in Family Court.  Logan, however, insisted there is “absolute prosecutorial immunity.”
