Library director talks digital divide at Clemson

Phillip Cheney, director of Oconee Public Libraries, served as a guest speaker to management information classes at Clemson University, where he got the chance to talk about the country’s digital divide.  For someone making his way in the 21st century, you don’t want to be on the other side of the digital divide.  According to one definition, a digital divide is an economic and social inequality with regard to access to, use of, or impact of information and communication technologies.  And it may refer to inequalities among individuals, households, businesses, or geographic areas, usually at different socioeconomic levels or other demograhic categories.
