“Lin-Sanity” returns to Madison Square Garden

Houston Rockets star Jeremy Lin

It was Lin-sanity all over again at Madison Square Garden Monday night, as Jeremy Lin had 22 points and eight assists in a 109-96 win, only this time Lin was leading the Houston Rockets to victory over his former team, the New York Knicks. Lin has been struggling with Houston this season after leaving the Knicks when New York wouldn’t match the Rockets’ contract offer. But there was no sign of that Monday at his old MSG stomping grounds, where the then-virtual unknown bench-warming point guard had a month-long improbable run in February that captivated the sporting world. Showing their appreciation, a sellout crowd gave Lin a loud ovation during the introduction of the starting lineups last night. But the cheers quickly turned to boos as Lin began to score. After the game, Lin told reporters, “It was great to be back and it was a lot of fun to play on that court again.”
