Lining up Oconee’s third “spec” building

A unanimous vote by the Oconee County Council means the county will build its third “spec” building to use as a carrot to attract the industrial rabbit.  The county built two other spec buildings, but both are now occupied.  Russell Johnson, project manager for the Oconee Economic Alliance, said today a meeting will be held soon to work on details for the project.  Still to be worked is the size of the building and how much money the county will request through Santee Cooper, the state’s Public Service Authority, which makes available loan money at low payback rates.
