Local teams stay alive in postseason

Seneca’s softball team stayed alive in the Class 3A postseason with a 13-2 rout of South Pointe on Wednesday. The Bobcats now face Blue Ridge on Friday. They’ll need to defeat the Tigers twice to advance to the Upper State playoffs.

Seneca’s girls’ soccer team blanked Blue Ridge, 2-0, in round two playoff action on Wednesday. The Cats will face Dreher High School on Friday in round three, with a win earning them a spot in the Upper State title match.

In baseball, Walhalla remains a contender with a 12-5 win on the road at Chester. David Medlin earned the win on the mound, striking out 9 batters along the way. The Razorbacks will travel to Camden on Friday. They’ll need to two wins to advance to the Upper State playoffs.
