Machinist wins City Hall appeal

Walhalla will permit a machine shop to open inside a commercial building in a general residential district. Barry David Brown won his appeal last night at City Hall. The Board of Zoning Appeals voted 3 to 1 to make the exception. Elizabeth Hoadley cast the lone dissenting vote. Two neighbors expressed concern for the potential of noise and pollution, but Brown assured them they won’t have to worry about his day-time business. The business will be located at 202 W. Diedrich Street.
