Mainstay of OC manufacturing to expand

State and local officials today are announcing the expansion of the Seneca area’s Borg Warner. The plant on the Wells Highway is to get an investment of $24.6 million and about 105 new jobs. It’s seen as good news for the Oconee County manufacturing sector and further sign that South Carolina’s automotive industry continues to grow. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits for the project. Borg Warner is a supplier to some of the world’s top brands including VW/Audi, Ford, Toyota, BMW and General Motors. The Seneca expansion is to be carried out in phases over the next few years. The company employs more than 600 people in South Carolina. Those interested in jobs should visit the company’s careers webpage.
