Man charged with attempted murder near Seneca

A 35-year old Utica man remained jailed at Walhalla this afternoon, charged with attempted murder and multiple offenses of weapons violations. Law enforcement records show the arrest last night of Ronnie Joe Patterson Jr. of Lonsdale Street as part of an investigation that arose from incidents April 21 on Wells Highway and vicinity near Seneca. The affidavit contained within the warrant charging attempted murder alleges Patterson shot several rounds from a .380 calibre pistol at a home, a car, and a man sitting on a front porch. An incident report on file with the Sheriff’s Office states a grazing shot left the man on the porch with a bloody ear. It states the man on the porch then got into a car and chased the suspect’s car in a manner officers described as reckless and a danger to the community.
