Miss Oktoberfest 2016 is crowned

“In Style” was the theme of Sunday’s Miss Oktoberfest Pageant, where Walhalla High School’s sophomore Madison MacLachlan won the overall title of Miss Oktoberfest 2016 along with a $500 scholarship.   Madison will reign over the Oktoberfest activities, which will be held October 21st-23rd in downtown Walhalla and on Sertoma field.  Some of her duties include attending the Oktoberfest luncheon, cutting the ribbon to open the ceremonies, dancing the first dance and visiting with over 100 vendors.  The daughter of Bruce and Lori MacLachlan is a sophomore honor student at Walhalla High School, where she is a member of the girls junior varsity basketball and volleyball teams, the Beta Club, National Honor Society and the school improvement advisory board.  She volunteers for various causes, such as Relay for Life, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and the Lila Doyle Nursing Home.  She hopes to become an orthodontist. The Miss Oktoberfest court consists of 1st runner-up Morgan McCall, a senior at Walhalla High; 2nd runner-up Aubrey Bailey, a freshman at Walhalla High; 3rd runner-up Waverly Speegle, a senior at Oconee Christian Academy; and 4th runner up Anna McCall Mimms, a senior at Seneca High School.  Additional recognition went to the following:
