COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Top seed Clemson will face 4-seed Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl at 4 PM on New Year’s Eve in Miami and number two-seed Alabama will face 3-seed Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl that night. Clemson, Alabama, and Michigan State all won conference championship games on Saturday to get into the top four while Oklahoma rattled off seven-straight wins to end the regular season as outright champions of the Big 12.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: South Carolina hires former Florida coach Will Muschamp as the new head coach of the Gamecocks. Muschamp was most recently defensive coordinator at Auburn. He will retain Shawn Elliott as O-line coach, according to source. Elliott filled in after Steve Spurrier’s retirement mid-season.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Charleston Southern will face Jacksonville (AL) State this Friday night in the FCS quarterfinals on ESPN2. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. ET. CSU defeated The Citadel 14-6 last Saturday at Buccaneer Field.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL (MEN): Clemson defeated Wofford 66-51 on Sunday at The Well in Greenville. The Tigers are now 6-2 on the season. The Terriers fall to 3-5.

MLS: The Portland Timbers needed all of 27 seconds to get on the board in Sunday’s MLS Cup Final in Columbus and used that momentum to take home their first championship in club history 2-1 over the Crew SC.

NFL: The Carolina Panthers improved to 12-0 with a stunning 41-38 victory over the New Orleans Saints Sunday.

NFL: Ryan Fitzpatrick led the New York Jets to a 23-20 overtime victory Sunday when a 9-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall with 27-seconds left in regulation sent the game to OT. The Jets overcame a double digit deficit to force overtime, outscoring the Giants 10-0 in the second half.

NFL: The Philadelphia Eagles scored in all three phases Sunday and handed New England their second straight defeat 35-28. These are the Patriots first back-to-back regular season losses since 2012.

NBA: The Golden State Warriors have extended their winning streak after defeating the Nets 114-98 Sunday in Brooklyn.
