Multiple charges against Anderson man

clinton-trey-whitworthOconee Sheriff’s Office announced multiple charges today against a driver whose vehicle was pursued early Saturday from highway 11 to Westminster.  The charges against Clinton Trey Whitworth (left) originated after a deputy saw a car with no tail lights leaving a s. highway 11 business near Walhalla.  At Cornelia Avenue and the Long Creek Highway, the 30-year old Whitworth was detained on the charge of failure to stop for a blue light.  But further investigation revealed a Mustang had been stolen from the business and other vehicles broken into.  Whitworth was jailed on charges of petty larceny, breaking into auto, grand larceny, possession of burglary tools, driving under suspension besides failure to stop for a blue light.
