Murder defendant’s death

Members of the 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office have confirmed the death of Oconee County murder defendant Nicholas Bonelli. They say word was received earlier this week of the death of Bonelli, the elderly man arrested and charged with the murders of two women. The cases were moved removed from the General Sessions Court in April when Oconee Probate Judge Kenny Johns committed Bonelli to the state Department of Mental Health for an indefinite period.
