Music program gets a boost!

Music program South Carolina Heritage Fair recently presented six new dulcimers to the Oconee Heritage Center in Walhalla for use in the center’s Appalachian Music program. The instruments were donated through a grant from the Heritage Fair as part of a commitment to promote cultural heritage of the area. And, with those dulcimers, the Heritage Center will offer group lessons to learn to play the instrument. Dulcimer and other lessons, including banjo, guitar, mandolin and fiddle, begin next week. Space can be reserved by calling Jennifer Moss at 638-2224.
