N. Carolinian who fought extradition in OC custody

A 25-year old North Carolina man who fought extradition is now in Oconee County custody, where he’ll stand trial on charges from a summer time home burglary near Salem. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Hendersonville resident Joshua Dale Estes is being held in the county detention center. Estes is charged with burglary first degree, grand larceny, and assault and battery first degree. On July 5, the Sheriff’s Office named Estes one of two suspects in a late night home burglary two nights before on the Shallowford Road. And three days after being named a suspect, Estes was reported in custody of authorities in his home town of Hendersonville. Between then and now, according to Oconee Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Watt, Estes had fought extradition.
