National status achieved

The Junior Beta Club at West-Oak Middle School recently attained national merit status.  The honor goes to schools that show a deep commitment to academic excellence and whose chapters include all eligible grade levels. West Oak Middle School Junior Beta is offered to students in all grades who have earned a GPA of 3.875. The club provides students with experiences in leadership development as well as service involvement in their school and community. The West-Oak Middle Junior Beta Club has 123 members and three faculty sponsors:  Alison Hearl, Sheri Jenkins, and Amy Burgess. The club looks forward to being recognized as part of a published list of merit recipients at the national convention in New Orleans.
