NBA season gets underway as champion Heat top Celtics 120-107

The NBA season got underway with a slate of three games Tuesday night, including a match-up between the NBA champion Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics that saw the Heat come out on top 120-107. Dwyane Wade scored 29 points for the Heat and LeBron James finished with 26 points, despite missing much of the second half because of cramps in both legs. Before the game got underway in Miami, a ceremony was held in which the championship banner was raised and the Heat got their rings. In the night’s other two games the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Washington Wizards 94-84 and the Dallas Mavericks downed the L.A. Lakers 99-91.
