New deputy an award winner

A new Oconee deputy sheriff graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and the Basic Law Enforcement Program.  Deputy Garrett Bare also received the J-P Strom Award, given to the graduate who achieves the highest overall academic average, including the successful completion of all performance tests.  Bare was hired by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office June 4, but had served as a reserve deputy since July of last year.  He has been assigned to the Bravo Uniform Patrol Shift.
