New developments in late 2013 homicide

New developments in the case of a 61-year old man whose body was found in the rubble of a home fire near Westminster. In Friday’s developments, a pre-trial hearing was held for Zack Daniel Patterson, one of the two men charged with the murder of Richard Alan Maszalek. That hearing ended with an Oconee magistrate’s ruling to send the charge to the grand jury. Later Friday the Sheriff’s Office announced that two women have been charged with misprison of a felony. Margaret Frances Morrow, 53, of Fair Play, and Carrie Leigh Tyner, 29, of Westminster are accused of not revealing to deputies information about the Marszalek homicide. According to investigators, when someone has knowledge of a crime and is questioned about that crime and they either give false information about the crime or deceive investigators in any way, then law enforcement can charge them.
