New Solicitor to take office January 11

Unopposed on Tuesday’s ballot, you can start calling David Wagner 10th Circuit Solicitor-elect once the ballots are certified in both Oconee and Anderson counties.  Wagner continues to work as the deputy solicitor in charge of the Oconee office, but he is envisioning the staff and the caseloads for which he will have overall responsibility.  As he alluded to during the primary election campaign, Wagner intends to divide time between Oconee and Anderson, but likely will spend more time in the more populated Anderson where there are more court weeks.  He intends to name a long-time co-worker, Lindsey Simmons, as deputy solicitor of the Oconee office.  Wagner says he believes the answer to Oconee’s high caseloads is hiring more prosecutors.
