Next step? A letter of intent

Officials of both Oconee Medical Center and Greenville Health Systems are focusing their vision on a letter of intent toward the much talked about potential alliance between the two health care organizations. The task force of representatives from both sides met yesterday in Greenville and discussed what comes next. They also talked about a consulting firm’s report, now being finalized, that analyzed OMC’s services, financial numbers and debt structure—as well as the feedback from employees, physicians and community leaders. Hunter Kome, vice president for operations at OMC, said, “We remain on schedule to have a Letter of Intent voted upon by both Boards by the end of April. The Letter of Intent would be a non-binding document that describes in a bit more detail the type of relationship being proposed.”
