NHL makes new offer to locked-out players

The National Hockey League has made a new offer to its locked-out players, proposing a 50-50 split of hockey-related revenue and a full 82-game season starting on November 2nd. The offer came as talks resumed Tuesday between the league and the players association. The NHL locked out its players on September 15th, and the regular season was scheduled to begin on October 11. A November 2nd start date would extend the season well into June.
