NTSB Investigation Continues

The NTSB says a stalled engine may have been the cause of a plane crash Sunday which killed two Greenville families.  NTSB board member Earl Weener says stalling can happen when an aircraft’s airspeed drops too low or if the slope of the plane becomes too extreme to maintain lift. He said the plane’s position on impact is consistent with a typical low-altitude stall. Melet Antonakos, his wife Kimberly, and their three children died in that crash. The other family, Chris McManus and his wife Stacey and their son and daughter also died in that crash.  Both families were from Greenville. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday morning at Christ Church Episcopal’s main Sanctuary in Greenville.
