OC under flood warning

This morning’s heavy downpour is creating problems on Oconee County roadways. At least one section of highway has been closed. All lanes are now reported back open.  The DOT’s Frank Green blamed what happened on an excessive amount of water in a short time.  In Seneca, Public Works Director Mark Krabbe says, despite a lot of rain, the street drains seem to be handling the water satisfactorily. State troopers report the closing near Seneca of Wells Highway and South Fourth Street. Car accidents have been reported on Hefner Road, on highway 28 and Avondale Road, and on Country Junction and Taylor roads.
