OC wants utility aircraft removed

Oconee County has begun legal action for the removal of a plane from the county’s airport near Clemson. A lawyer on behalf of the county filed pleadings in the Common Pleas Court seeking to enjoin the owner of a utility plane made by Helio Aircraft of Prescott, Arizona. The damage lawsuit identifies the plane owner as Cashiers, North Carolina resident Tim Greene. It alleges that Greene has failed to pay a rental storage fee of $25 dollars a month, in spite of repeated requests by the airport director. The lawsuit alleges the plane sits at the Oconee Regional Airport without authorization or consent of Oconee County.
