Oconee economic development

In Oconee County government circles, there’s a lot going on of late with its 400 acres on highway 11 at Richland. An unidentified company is said to be interested in property there. Paul Corbeil, District One County Councilman, also says tomorrow is the day that a committee is to give final discussion and a score to the idea of new shell building. As chairman of the Capital Project Advisory Committee, Corbeil will preside at tomorrow morning’s meeting where there is scheduled final discussion and scoring for the idea of a third shell building, this one to be in the Echo Hills Industrial Park. Corbeil says the council is unanimous that the creation of jobs is the county’s top priority, but an important question to him is whether, at this time, the county can afford a new shell building.
