Oconee road work makes DOT list

Three Oconee County projects have been included on a South Carolina DOT list of proposed re-surfacing projects in the 2018 Non-Federal Aid Pavement Program.  They are 0.46 miles of Freedom Drive; 1.36 miles of Old Station Road; and 3.04 miles of the Old Walhalla Highway.  State transportation money in the amount of $78 million is available for 319 miles of re-surfacing and/or pavement re-construction.  The funds are to be distributed to counties based on their percentage of NFA secondary lane miles in fair and poor condition.  Pending public comment, the projects are to be advertised for construction in October and December.  You can make comment on the projects to Viola Covington, SC DOT Office of Planning, 955 Park Street, Columbia 29202 [email protected]
