Office building would exceed county’s height limit

A five-story office building in the planning by Duke Energy would rise so high that it would exceed Oconee County’s height limit for buildings. According to Josh Stephens, county zoning administrator, any request for a building exceeding 65 feet in height automatically triggers consideration by the board of zoning appeals. Duke’s building would reach 80 feet.  The board has scheduled a hearing 6 o’clock Thursday night, May 30 at the county administrative complex in Walhalla.
