Officer-involved shooting in Anderson County

The state police said this afternoon they continue to investigate an Anderson County incident yesterday in which a confrontation during a foot chase following a traffic stop resulted in a shot fired by a deputy sheriff. State Law Enforcement Division’s investigation includes interviews with responding officers and others and the gathering and the analyzing of forensic evidence. There is no dash camera video of the incident, according to SLED. The incident in Anderson was the sixth officer-involved shooting in South Carolina so far in 2018. Of 49 officer-involved shootings last year in South Carolina, two involved Anderson County deputies.
